What you can do
Use the free icons in unlimited personal and commercial projects — websites, apps, presentations, video, print, packaging and merchandise — at no cost.
Modify, recolour, recombine and adapt them freely. Convert between formats, build icon fonts or sprite sheets, and ship only the icons you use.
Use them across every platform and channel, with no per-view, per-user or per-device fees.
No attribution is required. A credit or link back to Roundicons is always appreciated but never mandatory.
What you cannot do
You may not resell or redistribute the free icons as a standalone icon pack, icon library, or as the core asset of a competing icon product.
You may not claim authorship of the original artwork or register it as your own trademark.
You may not imply that Roundicons or the original authors endorse your project.
Open-source packs & original licenses
Some free packs on Roundicons are curated from well-known open-source icon sets (for example MIT-licensed libraries). Where a pack carries its own upstream open-source license, that license continues to apply and is the most permissive interpretation of these terms — you may always rely on the original license.
Each free pack’s page notes its origin where applicable. When in doubt, the upstream open-source license (e.g. MIT) governs, and these Free License terms simply restate it in plain English.
Upgrading to a paid pack
The free packs are a genuine slice of the catalog, not crippled demos. If you need a larger, fully-cohesive set in a specific style — with AI source files, IconJar archives and guaranteed consistency — the premium packs and the bundle are covered by the Standard License.
Warranty & liability
The free icons are provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind. Roundicons and the original authors aren’t liable for any claim or damage arising from their use.
Most icons depict generic concepts, but some categories (brand-like marks, identifiable products, cultural symbols) may carry localised restrictions — verify before publishing in regulated contexts.
